# Nereus NS601 – Reliable All-Season Performance Designed for drivers seeking consistent grip and lasting durability, the Nereus NS601 delivers confident handling in diverse weather conditions. Whether navigating wet city streets or cruising on dry highways, this tire offers a balanced blend of performance and comfort. ## Smooth Ride and Long-Lasting Tread Engineered with an optimized tread pattern, the NS601 reduces road noise while enhancing traction across seasons. Its robust construction promotes even wear, helping extend tire life and maintain efficiency over time—ideal for everyday commuting and longer journeys alike. ## What makes the Nereus NS601 suitable for year-round use? The tire’s advanced rubber compound remains flexible in varying temperatures, providing dependable grip during spring showers, summer drives, and mild winter conditions. ## How does it support fuel efficiency? A low rolling resistance design helps reduce fuel consumption, supporting better mileage and a more eco-friendly drive without compromising safety or performance.
The Tire Labeling Ordinance specifies the information requirements on fuel efficiency, wet grip and external rolling noise from tires. In addition, reference is made to the winter properties of the product.
The EU 1222/2009 regulation that has been in force since November 1st, 2012 has been revised and will be replaced by regulation EU 2020/740 from May 1st, 2021; From this point on, new requirements apply. The rating classes for fuel efficiency, wet grip and exterior noise have been changed and the layout of the EU label has been adjusted. The manufacturer's product data sheets stored in the EU database can be downloaded via a QR code integrated into the label. Information on snow grip and ice grip is also newly included for tires that meet these criteria.
The following tires are exempt from the regulation: - tires that are designed exclusively for installation on vehicles that were first registered before October 1, 1990 - retreaded tires (until a corresponding extension of EU VO 2020/740 has taken place) - professional off - Road tires - Racing tires - Tires with additional devices to improve traction, eg studded tires - T-type emergency tires - Tires with a permissible speed below 80 km/h - Tires for rims with a nominal diameter ≤ 254 mm or ≥ 635 mm
The criteria and evaluation classes at a glance
fuel efficiency
The fuel consumption depends on the rolling resistance of the tyres, the vehicle itself, the driving conditions and the driving style of the driver. The measured rolling resistance (rolling resistance coefficient) of the tire is divided into classes A (highest efficiency) to E (lowest efficiency).
If a vehicle is completely equipped with class A tires, a consumption reduction of up to 7.5%* is possible compared to class E tyres. In the case of commercial vehicles, it can even be higher. (Source: European Commission Impact Assessment * when measured according to the test methods set out in Regulation (EU) 2020/740)
Please note: Fuel consumption depends to a large extent on your own driving style and can be significantly reduced by driving in an environmentally friendly manner. Tire pressure should be checked regularly to improve fuel efficiency.
wet grip
Wet grip is divided into classes A (shortest braking distance) - E (longest braking distance).
If a car is equipped with class A tires, compared to class E tires, a braking distance of up to 18 m can be reduced when braking from 80 km/h (on a road surface with average grip).* *Source: wdk Economic Association of the German Rubber Industry eV
Please note: Traffic safety depends to a large extent on your own driving style. The stopping distances must always be observed. Tire pressure should be checked regularly to improve wet grip.
External rolling noise
The noise emitted by a tire affects the overall volume of the vehicle and affects not only your own driving comfort, but also the noise pollution of the environment. In the EU tire label, the external rolling noise is divided into 3 classes from A (lowest rolling noise) - C (highest rolling noise), measured in decibels (dB) and compared with the European noise emission limit values for external tire rolling noise.
A The pictogram with the classification "A" indicates that the tire's external rolling noise is more than 3 dB below the EU limit value in force until 2016. B The "B" classification means that the tyre's external rolling noise is up to 3 dB below or equal to the EU limit value in force until 2016. C The classification "C" indicates that the specified limit value is exceeded.

02.08.2023fromjustin I've allways had bridgestone tyres on my bmw
but after hitting non stop pot holes and damaging them I decided to opt for budget
what can I say other than these tyres are excellent . super smooth and grippy
noise level has 80% improved over my bridgestones and there that cheap I'm not bothered if there get damaged with the pot holes
these tyres live up to any top brand name
I'll be buying them again that's for sure
20.09.2021fromYuri Very good tyres, but do not "overdrive" on wet surfaces (sharp turns, emergency breaking. Otherwise--very good)
12.06.2021fromDonald Simp I bought these tyre in haste. I was on the M6 Motorway in the midlands, England. There was a 50mph speed restriction owing to the endless roadworks. I hit a really rough patch of road and the tyre vibration and loss of control was scary. Having arrived at my destination I ordered four Nereus N601 tyres online from ctyres-online via Ebay UK. As soon as I had paid, I was starting to have reservations. I couldn't find any reference to this maker. I eventually found out that the are the exact same tyre as the well-regarded 'Firemax' brand.
They were on the delivery van early the next day (I ordered them late Friday evening. Amazingly they arrived 10 (ten) hours later. A truly great service from ctryres-online. This is also their Ebay seller-name btw.
I fit them myself and had them all balanced at Burnley Tyre & Battery. A great company if you are ever in the East Lancashire area.
Since then I have noted the following qualities:
Tyre Noise: is notably an improvement over my last tyres (Toyo Nano). No 'roar' to be heard on the concrete road surfaces that are common around the Stoke on Trent area.
Wet weather: handling and stopping are excellent. I lent my car out to a friend who drives in hill climbing events at a semi-pro level. He happily drove around most of England - 1800 miles in early February delivering essential medication during the 2021 Covid epidemic. He spotted the tyre make after eight days and is now sold on the Nereus tyre brand. He is obviously a far better driver than myself, so I trust his judgement.
Dry weather: is also remarkably good. They feel very safe and the 'wander' that the 'Toyo' tyres had is now completely cured.
Fuel Consumption: Not absolutely sure, but my fuel log (I am a very boring person-approaching a boring person score that rivals snooker ace Steve Davis) shows a one mpg improvement over the outgoing tyres.
Handling: in all circumstances seems to be very good.
Street Cred: is obviously zero, but who cares about what other people think? I used to sell used hot-hatch-type cars in the nineties. Not one buyer noticed or remarked on tyre make or even if they had a mix of different brands on the same car. Maybe, with the advent of the internet, it may be a different tale...
To conclude, these tyres are around a 90% cash saving over the well known branded tyres. They are a safe tyre with seemingly good wear/handling/grip characteristics. Another point. if you don't like spending money on tyre fitting/balancing is to do as I have and invest in tyre fitting/balancing equipment. It is an easy DIY task and you should recoup after around two or three complete tyre changes. I also do my own wheel-alignment too. Buy decent quality used stuff and you should be able to do so for a few £100s.
Finally, If you buy direct from Ctyres who are based in Hinkley they should arrive within two days, in a decent cardboard box that your cat will love and save about 15% over buying via an online auction website :-)
